  • Carnival Funds

Carnival week is now almost a distant memory and it’s now time for the committee to share out the monies that everyone kindly donated throughout the carnival week, be it from sponsorship, buying raffle tickets, or attending and event.

If you are a Sway organisations or group and would like to apply for funding for a project, for needed items, or for any other reason please email details of your request to enquiries@swaycarnival.co.uk  or by post to our treasurer Sue Howard at Green Pastures Pitmore Lane Sway SO41 8LL.

We are always pleased to welcome new faces onto the committee – new faces/new ideas. We meet monthly. If you would like to help but feel being on the committee is not for you perhaps you could offer your services during carnival week  as it is a very busy time for us all. • Thank you

A Big thank you to all our sponsors and those that donated some wonderful prizes to this years Carnival.

  • Until Next Year!

With the sun continuing to shine down on us, the Carnival Committee are now tidying up and finishing off a few outstanding tasks.

Prizes from the Grand Draw will be delivered to the lucky winners over the next few days and the bunting and posters will be taken down.

We had a lovely warm evening for the Carnival Procession, with plenty of drinks and food along the route (thanks to the Silver Hind, Frog & Jam Jar and Hot Stuff) and at Jubilee Field for the post procession party, (thanks to, The Laughing Street Chef,  Pride of the Forest Catering, The Football Club & Steven Deweys Ice Cream Van).

Thanks also to the Dolphin Marching Band acting almost as Pied Pipers! with loads of happy children chasing them around the field, the Ukelele Band that marched in the procession and then played until the DJ started.

Thanks to all Sway residents for the hard work and efforts put into their costumes and to everyone else that joined in on the evening to make for a wonderful procession and party.

The Fete suffered a little from both the heat and a certain football match (come on England!) so again a big thank you to all that attended & helped to make it a great day, lots of lovely stalls, demonstrations by village clubs, Kate for her fun Dog Show and all those that brought along lovely historic cars and bikes.

The Church Picnic and Service was again well attended as was the Jazz on the Lawn at The Manor at Sway. Singing and Music were the order of the day, and both sounded wonderful. What a great way to end ten days of Carnival.

    So! until next year, BYE!

BUT! Don't forget Carnival will be appearing again in December for the lighting of the Christmas Tree and maybe some additional events.
