Carnival Donations

Carnival week is always a very busy time for all the committee and it is really rewarding to see everyone enjoying themselves; but one of the most rewarding times is when we are able respond to the requests for money from Sway organisations. It is so good to know that so many benefit from Carnival week and the hard work that many people put into it. Below is the list of the organisations who have received money and what they plan to do with it.

  • Robin Nursery --- New signs
  • Brownies – Activity Day at Calshot
  • St. Luke’s School – Books for the reception class
  • Brockenhurst Day Care Centre (open to Sway residents) – chairs
  • Tennis Club – New signs
  • Stanford Rise Green – 500 bulbs
  • Sway cubs – Computer screen
  • Little Sunflowers – Hire of Church room
  • SingSway – Choir folders
  • Over 60s club – Christmas lunch
  • Sway Scouts – Camping equipment
  • Explorer Scouts –  Cookware
  • Sway Luncheon Club – Kitchen equipment
  • Allotments – mower
  • Little Flyers – Play equipment
  • Youth Club Centre – marking for the car park
  • Shorinji Kempo Martial arts  - Uniforms
  • Football Club – new noticeboard and football nets
  • Ukele band - Donation to their chosen charity
  • W.I.  – Darts
  • Sway Drama Club - Spring production.

A donation was also made to Village Hall

As you can see – the donations cover  a wide variety of items; but what they all have in common is that the organisations were able to purchase them as a result of the generosity of Sway residents.
